After unifying the WBO, IBF and WBA titles with his win against Joseph Parker at the Principality Stadium in March, Anthony Joshua will now take on WBA mandatory challenger Alexander Povetkin in September.
WBA mandatory challenger and former Olympic Champion Povetkin is a fighter not to be under-estimated, having spectacularly knocked out David Price on the Joshua v Parker undercard in March.
This is due the first of two fights for Joshua at the national stadium. The second in April 2019 is expected to be a unification bout against Deontay Wilder – should Joshua still hold all belts.
