The Build Up

Promote Eddie Hearn said “It doesn’t bring the world heavyweight title with it, which is of course a carrot in the other two options, but if Tony can beat David Haye again, which I believe he can, he can fight for the world heavyweight title after that anyway.”

Bellew added “For me, the biggest money fight out there, and the fight that the public seem to want the most is the David Haye rematch.”

“On 17 December I will turn up and I will win again.”

“If anything, this fight is not going to go as long as it did last time.”

Since returning from retirement, former WBA Heavyweight champion Haye had two quick and impressive wins agains Marc De Mori and Arnold Gjergjaj before suffering the surprise defeat to Bellew.

The Londoner compared Bellew’s 11th round TKO win over him in March to “robbing a bank” and has predicted revenge in December.

“He somehow won the lottery in our first fight, but believe me, he won’t win the lottery twice.”

The Former WBA heavyweight champion has undergone successful surgery following the loss and has since parted with trainer Shane McGuigan.
